It was raining and kind of yucky today (I should be a weather girl “There is a storm moving through, so beware..it will be yucky”) so we decided we needed to do something indoor to get the kids out of the house. My husband suggested going to the mall. He’s not really a mall type of guy (and actually neither am I) so it kind of surprised me. I jumped on the chance to get out though, so off we went.
As we were getting out of the car to go in, I told him to grab the Entertainment Book that we always keep in our car…just in case. We weren’t really planning on making any purchases, but I knew there was a buy one get one free coupon for the cookie place, so I thought it might be nice to treat the kids (see I’m a sweet mommy!).
We went inside and my husband suggested I look in Lane Bryant. When I walked up to the door I noticed there was a $6.99 sale going on. To a frugal girl like me, who HATES parting with money for clothes (a nice dinner out, no problem! A fun new gadget, here’s some cash! Clothes? Am I a girl? I think so….) that was all I needed to make a bee line for the back of the store. Sales Rack!!!
I scoured the rack and found:
a light jacket for the fall
a pair of some capris.
Tried them on and loved them all!
We were about to check out when I remembered the Entertainment Book. I pulled it out of the diaper bag, and sure enough there was a Lane Bryant coupon in there for $10 off of $50.
Right behind me was a shelf filled with pretty tshirts normally $19.99…discounted to $9.99. I grabbed 3 and walked out with a bag filled with brand name, high quality, plus sized (this is important to the story…it’s hard to find affordable high quality plus sized clothes!) new clothes for this:
I paid $40.94 for 4 shirts, 1 jacket and 1 pair of capri pants.
I did that by combining a sale with a coupon and only shopping from discounted items. There’s really rarely ever a reason to pay full price for anything! With a little patience, research (or in my case today…Luck!) you can always snag a deal!
Oh and the kids did get their cookies!
