Busy Life? Healthy Choice and Walmart Have You Covered #HealthyChoices

Spring has sprung and all of a sudden life has gone into overdrive! Spring in Texas is so much fun.

We have strawberry picking to look forward to, bluebonnets are blooming and baseball is gearing up.

Between school, baseball (for both kids), dance and a myriad of other requirements, eating healthy has kind of taken the back burner around here.

To me, eating healthy has always meant my food was made from scratch. That’s just what healthy has always meant to me.

Unfortunately, cooking from scratch is just not always reasonable or feasible nowadays.

Just recently I heard about Healthy Choice Top Chef Cafe Steamers. Calorie and portion controlled meals that were actually endorsed (created) by the Top Chef participants?

If you have watched Top Chef, you know that they serve high quality gourmet food!

The winner of the Top Chef challenge was Chef Kristen Kish who made a Healthy Choice Crustless Chicken Pot Pie that won rave reviews (and won her $15,000!).

I figure, if I can’t make it from scratch, at least I can test out these Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers to see if they could fit into my families busy lifestyle! Thankfully there were some coupons for the Top Chef Steamers (in my sidebar) AND the Healthy Choice Greek Frozen Yogurt (also in my sidebar) so I figured it was worth a shot!

One evening it was cutting close to dinner time. We have a new puppy, and we’re housebreaking her right now. So all eyes must be on puppy when she’s out and about! I don’t have time to boil a pot of water lately, so I knew we were going to be probably grabbing take out for dinner (AGAIN).

My husband encouraged me to head out to Walmart with my Healthy Choice coupons so we could have a healthy dinner instead.

I ran out to Walmart and got a bit lost at first. I was trying to find the Healthy Choice Greek Frozen Yogurt over by the other desserts and I couldn’t find it! I decided to head over to the meals and there it was, right next to the Cafe Steamers!

You can tell that this has been a popular item!

Thankfully the flavors I most wanted to try (the Healthy Choice Crustless Chicken Pot Pie and the Dark Fudge Swirl Greek Frozen Yogurt) were available. I got 2 of each of those flavors and picked out a few other flavors that I thought the kids might be interested in.

Of course, it’s Walmart so I had to peruse around the store a bit!

Easter is in full swing at Walmart right now so I passed by some candy (not a healthy choice!), some cute dress up clothes, some cascarones (find out how to make your own cascarones here!) and even some Skylander Giants (a quick call to my husband reassured me we had all the ones on display, phew!).

Finally, I headed home and made a healthy dinner for my family! The Healthy Choice Top Chef Cafe Steamers were amazing and the Healthy Choice Greek Frozen Yogurt was the perfect sweet treat for after dinner!

We headed off to take the dog for a walk after eating and it felt like the perfect end to a busy day filled with healthy choices!
