I’m one of those moms who prefers to go on clothing shopping sprees for my children instead of myself.
They don’t have to try things on in front of unforgiving dressing room mirrors 😉 .
And duh, they look cute in EVERYTHING!
I had fun buying baby clothes, but let me tell you…buying cute toddler clothes is more fun. Way more fun!
Bright colors, fun prints, layers, etc. Cute toddler clothes are available in sizes 2T-5T and here are some suggestions for where to buy them that won’t break the bank!
- Burlington Coat Factory
- The Children’s Place
- Crazy 8
- Sew your own clothes for your children
For girls: Make sure you purchase some black leggings and white leggings. Use these to layer under skirts and dresses for a modest look. Also grab some bike shorts/yoga shorts for the same purpose during hot months. A cute cardigan can take a spring dress to a fall look. If you think layers, you’ll spend less!
For boys: Once again, layering is where it’s at. Take t-shirts into winter and fall by purchasing several long sleeved white shirts (I recommend Walmart’s Garanimals brand). Boys are pretty easy on the bottom. Jeans, slacks, khakis and shorts. Have at least one of each and rotate them so they all get a bit of wear. Always make sure your boy has some dress clothes available as well.
For both: You’ll want items you can mix and match. Buy shirts that will go with a variety of pants. Leggings that can go under any skirt or dress. Use accessories like bows and cool shoes to help your kiddo feel more fun and individual.
Remember, these might be the last years that you get to choose what your kiddos wear, so have fun!
