I honestly can’t even imagine how life changing this would have been for me if this had been available when I was in college.
Now you can RENT your textbooks in digital format when you use your Kindle (or Kindle App available on a variety of devices including PC & Mac).
Here is how the program works:
- Search for the textbook you need in the Textbooks Store or from the search bar. If a Kindle edition is available for rent, you’ll see an option in the Formats section on the textbook page. Select this option.
- Next you select how long you’ll need the book for. This can be anywhere from 30-360 days. You pay for only the time you need the book.
- Click “Rent Now” w/ One-Click to get the textbook sent to your devices!
Now I know this format won’t be for everyone. Some books you just need to have in hand. I also don’t know how great the navigation through the chapters will be. In some cases, purchasing the actual book either used or new and reselling it at the end of the semester might be your best bet. But I can definitely see plenty of scenarios where being able to rent the digital format of a text book could be perfect!
I also wonder about whether the new sharing feature will be available so you can share the book among a few classmates.
It’s great to know that this is available to students!
A big thanks to my husband for sending this deal over to me!
