Back On Weight Watchers…Again

So, I have a confession to make. I’m going back on to Weight Watchers. I lost over 40 lbs on Weight Watchers a few years back, so I know Weight Watchers works for me. This was pre-babies though, so it was a lot easier to lose weight. It was also pre major PCOS craziness as well.

I anticipate this time it will be harder. It will be harder to eat well, it will be harder to fit in exercise. It will be harder to stay motivated, it will be harder to be pumped and energetic about it. It will be harder to maintain and it will be harder to succeed.

I have to do it though. Take a look at these pictures:

These are my before and afters on Weight Watchers before. I am ashamed to admit that I look much more like the before picture now than the after. So I need to start up again. Like I said, I know it will be hard. I also know that Weight Watchers works for me. I am an emotional eater and I need the discipline and structure that the program provides me.  I’ll be doing the online program again (that’s what I used years ago, I’ve tried meetings but they aren’t for me), and with the help of my iphone I’ll be able to track my food wherever I go.

My goal? To lose 100 lbs. Sounds lofty. It’s necessary.

I’d love if others wanted to join in with me! Other bloggers or readers? Let me know in the comments if you are currently on WW, planning on it after the new year or if you’ve had great success with the program! They have a new program and I’m allotted a LOT more points than I used to be. I wonder if this will keep me on track better?

Wish me luck!

I am linking this post up over at Works For Me Wednesday. I am not being paid to write about weight watchers at all. I am paying for the program out of my own pocket.

  1. You went for it! Good for you! I will be joining you in about 2 weeks. I’d love some kind of web-support circle thing! I want to lose 20lsb (probably more like 25 after xmas)….

I am hoping WW will help me be able to still stick to a diet when occasions come up that go outside my daily routine. I can stick to my diet just fine – at home, day to day – but on weekends or if there is a party or something, I go way off and I think that is messing me up on other diets.

    1. Yep! I took the plunge. I’m probably crazy to start before Christmas, but I needed to just do it. Otherwise I’d talk myself out of it again and again you know?
I’m so glad you’ll be joining me! Be sure to let me know when you start!

  2. Good Luck 🙂 I too have decided to live a healthier lifestyle. (eating, excercising, etc) It’s been a tough road. I’ve been trying for approx. a month now. You can do it!!

  3. I (re)started Weight Watchers a few weeks ago. I lost 40 pounds on the program about 8 years ago. And then I not-so-slowly gained it all back. I’d like to lose 40-50 this time around. You can do it!

    1. Yeah these first couple of days are really rough. Getting used to monitoring every bite. I’ve been grazing so much these past few months. Hard to break the habit.

  4. Good for you Heather! I was actually thinking of going back. It worked so well for me (I am actually a lifetime member now…it worked that well 😉 ) that I really need to do something again. Sitting around, saying I will go, isn’t going to be enough. You will be my inspiration to get back to it 🙂

  5. I have been on WW in the past – and I am a lady with PCOS too! GREAT PROGRAM!

I wish you much luck and success in your journey to greater health!

I currently attend TOPS meetings (www.TOPS.org) and have lost 40+ pounds since the beginning of February 2010! (I am the current leader of my Chapter also! 🙂 I am thinking of training to run a 5K, although I am still over 250 lbs!

We can do this – together!

    Take care!

    1. 40 + lbs! that is amazing. That is definitely something to be super proud of! I actually have run a few 5K’s in the past few years. I LOVE them and did them all at around 250 lbs. I actually really enjoy running, my body just doesn’t appreciate it LOL. I’m going to start off walking this time. Unfortunately I am way too ambitious and doubt I’ll be able to *just* walk for long!
Good luck in your weight loss efforts and be sure to come back often so we can work together!
      I’m so excited!

  6. I have never officially done Weight Watchers, but I have bought the points tracker and the books on Ebay a couple of years ago before I got married. I was thinking about restarting that again in January. How does the online thing work? I would love to do this. I would also love to do it with a Blogger buddy type thing. I have a Wii Fit and Richard Simmons (Sweatin to the Oldies really worked for me when I was younger, I lost 40 lbs without even changing the way I ate). Is Weight Watchers Online really expensive? Is there any discounts out there? ( I will look for them too:)).

    1. Online is super easy. You just input your food into the online tracking and it keeps track of your points. You input your weight once a week and it adjusts your points if need be.

Weight watchers is around $17 a month for the online version. A bit pricey, but cheaper than programs where you have to buy your own food! I bet they’ll be a ton of promotions after the new year as well! Good luck! Let me know when/if you start up!
