Cabbage is one of those veggies you either love or hate. I happen to love it!
Typically, I prepare my cabbage with bacon in a skillet. Fry up the bacon (bacon makes everything better) and then cook the cabbage in the bacon fat. YUM.
It’s hard to top cabbage in bacon, but I also enjoy having cabbage with turkey sausage. This recipe is very filling and actually could be a stand alone meal (you might want to pair a carb with it).
I made my cabbage in my Instant Pot (using the sautee feature) from start to finish. My SIL was coming over and I knew I would need to keep it warm. So I cooked the cabbage in the Instant Pot and then threw the lid on it to keep it warm!
This recipe can be made on the stove in a large pot as well.
Make this with my Black Eyed Pea and Avocado Salsa for a great New Years Day feast!

Is this pressure cooked at all? I only see in the instructions to sautee it! I have everything in my IP and don’t know what setting to do!
Nope, I didn’t pressure cook it at all. I did use the keep warm setting.
Why not cook it under pressure for a couple of minutes? That keeps the smell of cabbage from permeating your house.
You can totally do that!
I would not call this an instant Pot recipe as it could have been cooked on any stove top in the manner you cooked it.
I was disappointed to click on and find this recipe as stated as I am getting ready to cook mine under pressure and was hoping to find a pressure time.
I’m sorry you were disappointed. If you re-read the post, you’ll see I never once mention cooking this under pressure. Instant Pot is also not in the title. I also state that you can easily make this in a pot on the stove. You could pressure cook this to make the cabbage wilt faster though.
