Freezer cooking Monday?

So since we were displaced for a few days, I had to change my bulk/freezer cooking day to today.

I made 2 loaves of bread, 1 batch of bagels, used all of our old breads ends and bread scraps to make some italian bread crumbs. I currently have a chicken roasting in the oven. I’ll pull the chicken off to use in casseroles and on a pizza this week and boil the rest of it with some carrots, onions and celery to make some homemade chicken broth (I drain off the broth and freeze this in 1 cup portions).

I also cut and froze some strawberries to add to the other frozen fruit in our freezer. It works best to freeze fruit on a tray first before putting it in the freezer bag so that you don’t have clumped together fruit.

Did you do any bulk/freezer cooking today? I swear it makes my life SO much easier!

  1. ha! Supermom I am not! The bread maker did the hard work on the bread and the bagels and the chicken just gets stuck in the oven for an hour and 45 minutes, picked apart and thrown into a pot of water with celery, onion and carrots.

Colin was home today too so that made life easier!
