Frugal Mommy Tip: An Emergency Low Cost Menu Plan

I’ve gotten emails in the past asking me how I keep our grocery bill so low.Honestly, I just shop smart, frugality is easy when you know what to look out for. You can read how I save money grocery shopping using store ads as well as shopping the drugstores.

If you need a bit more immediate assistance though, like you have no idea how you are going to feed your family THIS week…I’ve found a really excellent resource.

Hillbilly Housewife has a $70 Low Cost Menu and a $45 Emergency Menu for families that are struggling to make ends meet. I did use her $70 menu once a few years ago and it was actually pretty good. She’s assuming you don’t use coupons and you buy the generic version of the product. I suspect you can cut costs even further on this menu if you shop sale items and substitute where necessary.

Check out the Hillbilly Housewife for these menu plans and much more!.
