Deal Seeking Mom just posted Walmart’s new coupon policy on her blog. I’m just going to be honest here, I tried to coupon at Walmart once…they made me cry…I haven’t attempted again!
From what I can tell though, it looks like a very positive change! Be sure to download and print out the copy she has available. It will likely take a bit before all cashiers are trained on the new policy.
What do you think?

I have always had trouble with the cashiers when I try to use coupons……I hope they make it easier!
Definitely print out the policy! I think I’m going to give it a little time and than try it out with coupon policy in hand!
If our walmart even THINKS a coupon is printed at home (for something free) even though it has all the writing/etc on back they will NOT accept it.
Coupons.com will send me coupons for FREE stuff in the MAIL and most walmarts will refuse them cause they claim I printed them. I keep the orginal letter that came with them and they still say I made it myself.
Local grocery store refuses the coupons too ..the manager even said I printed themself to get something free.
Almost everyone is my area is getting to the point where they don’t accept coupons for FREE stuff. Now they have no issues with coupons to save money but NOT FREE stuff.
That is so frustrating. I wish there was some kind of database available to all merchants MADE and UPDATED by companies themselves. So they could simply do a quick check and see that the coupon is legit. I understand they don’t want to accept anything that is going to be fraudulent, but they are making criminals out of ethical couponers and it so frustrating.
Imagine if someone’s first coupon experience EVER was at Walmart. They might never try again :(
Yeah right, I was in there the other day and apparently the managers aren’t even trained properly and think the one coupon per item means that if the coupon says “one per purchase” that you can only use one the whole transaction, they tried telling me that was part of a new policy, if the managers don’t even know I’m not going back.
The thing is, prior to this they had NO real official coupon policy. Hopefully now they will all be better trained!
Here is a suggestion for everyone:
Since Walmart has updated the coupon policy, I encourage everyone to Email, Fax and even call Walmart CEO on complimenting the change on policy. Also, please share your horrible experience with Michael Duke. Ask him for his advice on making your future shopping experience smooth as possible avoiding past experience of you and others. Lastly, share this thread, other thread and blogs.
