My Review of The Muppets
A couple of weekends ago, my family was invited to a pre-screening for the new movie The Muppets.
Now, I was born in 1982 (hush now, I am not even 30 yet!), so I definitely grew up with the Muppets.
I knew I would enjoy this movie (plus I just ADORE Amy Adams), but I wasn’t so sure about my kids.
At the ages of 2 and 4, they are still hit and miss when it comes to movies with human beings/characters mixed together. I hoped though! It helped that the Muppets were EVERYWHERE in the days and weeks before we went to see the movie.
We were able to introduce them to Kermit, Miss Piggy and the whole gang before we sat through the film.
When it came time to head to the theater, Lizzie was very excited to see Miss Piggy and Noah definitely wanted to see Kermit. I just hoped that they would sing Rainbow Connection and Mahna Mahna….
They do ;).
***End Spoiler Alert***
The film did NOT disappoint. I felt like the movie was made for my age group. There was a lot of humor and nostalgia throwback to the 80’s which was right up my alley. But there was definitely plenty of silly and adorable for my kids to enjoy as well.
It was cheesy, and it totally meant to be, which in my opinion is the best way to pull off cheesy. It had a great message, and it kept myself and my children perfectly entertained throughout the entire show.
We will definitely be purchasing this on Blu Ray when it comes out, which is pretty much the standard we rate most movies by nowadays. With Netflix, we rarely purchase movies any longer unless they are just that good!
My review of The Muppets is that it is a fun family film and that everyone should take the time to see it!
