My CVS Shopping Trip: Diapers, Toilet Paper, Batteries….

Long time no see CVS. I had taken a CVS hiatus for quite a while. We were well stocked on all of our toiletries, diapers, etc and I am very careful about the line between stockpiling and hoarding (since I am a “hoarder” by nature).

We were out of toilet paper though and it had to be done. Not only that, but we stopped at CVS yesterday and my end of quarter ECB printed out (ECB is an extra care buck. Read here for more info on how to play the drugstore game). Then, today in my inbox was one of those glorious…wait for it…$4/$20 COUPONS! CVS was wooing me back and I was happy to oblige.

Obviously I did not have any ECB’s to roll, and I had things I needed so I spent a bit more out of pocket than when I am really playing the game seriously. I am still pleased with what I walked out with.

Transaction #1
2 16 roll Charmin Toilet Paper $10 each
1 pack of Duracell Batteries $6
1 $.99 pumpkin cup
2 $2 pumpkin cups (a little more fancy…not pictured because the kids were so excited they are sleeping with them)
-3 $.25 Charmin coupons
-$5 Halloween CVS coupon (printed from the big red kiosk today)
-$3.50 ECB (quarter earnings)
-$4/$20
Total Due $19.48
Earned $10 ECB

Transaction #2
1 box Huggies Little Movers $19.99
-$3.00 internet printable coupon
-$3.00 Huggies CVS Coupon (printed for me the other day)
-$10 ECB from prev transaction
Total Due $3.99

Total Spent: $23.47
Total Saved: $27.01

Love CVS! If you haven’t already, register your card online with them and they will send you a $4/$20 coupon in your email (and send them to you on a regular basis after that!)

  1. Sleeping with their pumpkin cups…so cute! A napped with her new shoes last week (holding them, not wearing them).

  2. I shopped at CVS last week for the first time in a while after a hiatus…got tired of the hassle with CVS and coupons.

I don't get the email coupons, I'll have to go register again.

Thank you for participating in last week’s Weekly Savings Linky, I hope you will link up again at the Weekly Savings Linky @ Frugality Is Free , it’s a great place to connect with other frugalistas. Did you become the Top Frugalista of the week?
