Have you ever gone to Amazon and been amazed by a big discount. Only to look a bit deeper and realize, hey this actually isn’t that huge of a deal….
Amazon isn’t the only guilty party, but this is just a reminder to beware of inflated “before” prices. Sometimes they are very misleading and don’t mean much.
Take this Melissa & Doug Construction paper.
Normally $14.89 and now on sale for $3.79. WOW! That’s a big discount! Better jump on this deal.
Until you realize that there are only 50 sheets of construction paper in the package.
Are you scratching your head yet? Now that doesn’t seem right!
All this to say, beware of overly inflated “before” prices. If you do some research, you might just find what looks like a fantastic deal is really just a marketing ploy. In some cases, maybe it was just a mistake.
To know for sure you are getting a good deal, just search online for other retailers and see what they have the item priced at. It might still be a great deal, but don’t buy into the hype without doing your research first!
