Review of the Neater Feeder: A Neater Way to Feed Your Pets

I was given this product for free to facilitate this review. The giveaway product will be provided by the company. All opinions are my own (and my dog’s!).
Neater Feeder

Do you have pets?

If so, you probably have to feed them occasionally, right? 😉

Our puppy, Cookie, is 8 months old now and the kids have really gotten into a routine of feeding her and caring for her.

We love animals, but I have to admit that we waited until our kids were a bit older to get a pet because we wanted them to learn some responsibility from taking care of a pet.

Both of us had dogs growing up and have such wonderful memories of playing with and taking care of our pets.

We wanted to make those same memories with our own children!

She’s so adorable! She’s just a baby here.

Our kids feed our dog (with some assistance) at least once a day (my husband feeds her early early in the morning but sometimes on the weekends, they feed her in the morning as well).

They don’t always feed her NEATLY though. 😉

Enter the Neater Feeder! I saw a review of the Neater Feeder on another blog one day and I was intrigued. It looked like a great solution for us!

The Neater Feeder is designed with protective walls to contain splashes and spills from an inadvertent kick or an excited pet. This revolutionary system holds spilled food in an upper reservoir while spilled water flows down a gentle slope through a patent-pending filtering system.

The spilled water drains into a lower reservoir that can safely contain more than an entire bowl of spilled water, keeping it off the floor until you are ready to dispose of it. Keeping the spilled food in the upper reservoir, off the floor, not only saves you work, but also keeps it clean for reuse.

Here is a visual for you:

Genius, right?

The design is flawless and we haven’t had a mess on the floor since we started using the Neater Feeder with Cookie!

You know what was a BIG problem in our house before the Neater Feeder? Us KICKING the dog bowl. What a mess that would make.

That has not happened ONCE since the Neater Feeder entered our lives!

Here’s some video of her first time using it (and my daughter feeding her):

The Neater Feeder comes in several sizes, so you can be sure they have one to fit your giant Great Dane or your tiny Tea Cup Chihuahua.

They even have Neater Feeders for cats! I had a cat once, she was a VERY messy eater!

You can purchase a Neater Feeder right here on their website.

Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to hear the latest product updates!

  1. We have 2 cats and a dog. My kids feed the animals and it is always such a mess. Spilled water and food! This looks like the perfect solution! Thanks for sharing this!

  2. What a cool idea! Three cats and a dog (plus a child with big feet like her momma) make this a must!

  3. I have a shepherd/husky mix and he is a messy eater and a sloppy drinker. We also have 2 cats and a 3 yr old that loves to help with feeding. This would be wonderful!!

  4. We have two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Jack Russell Terrier mix. They are spoiled rotten! A neat feeder would be great for our German Shepherd. She gets water all over the place when she drinks and the floor is starting to warp where her bowl sits.

  5. I have 2 rescue cats, ages 9 and 3 and a rescue Jack Russel Terrier mix, age 1. My daughter loves to help feed and water the animals but at 3 yo, her aim isn’t always the best. A dish like this would really be great!

  6. My 13 yr old lab, Tippy splashes like crazy when she drinks. I even bought a splash mat- that didnt help at all. This product looks perfect!

  7. This is too funny…my husband just showed me these feeders the other day and said we HAVE to get them. Our daughter has a habit of pouring a “mountain of kibble”

  8. I have a cat named Dora who we rescued when she was only 6 weeks old. I love Dora dearly, but she is such a sloppy eater. My husband and I also are always kicking the water bowl over. It seems no matter where I put the bowl, it manages to get knocked over. I’m tired of a wet floor and this Neater Feader sounds like an awesome idea.
Your dog is just too cute!

  9. I have a 3 month old mix puppy but he’s going to be the size of a St Bernard when he finishes growing right now he’s a black puff ball LOL..names Zeus. We need this type of feeder to keep his food up since he likes to lay down to eat which is not healthy 🙂

  10. We have a German Shorthair and a mini dachshund. This would be awesome so I’m not always stepping on the food they spill all over my house :)!

  11. We have a German Shepherd puppy and a Lab mix, and we are constantly cleaning water off the floor! This would help make my kitchen cleaner and a little safer from slipping on puddles – the Shepherd is the messiest drinker I’ve ever seen!

  12. We have a dog (a Vizsla) and 3 cats. Have always thought there was a better/neater way to feed them. Would be great to win this!

  13. We have tile floors, and if we kick our dogs water by accident, we have a huge mess to clean up. Also, our dogs are large, and they probably need something elevated. I think this would be perfect for us and our dogs!

  14. We have 2 big dogs! They are horribly messy eaters and drinkers. Not a day goes by that I don’t clean up food off the floor nearby or wipe up water. This would be an amazing fix to that problem!

  15. We have a very spoiled dog named Bullitt. Since he can be a messy eater, this product would be perfect! Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity. Keep up the terrific blogging!

  16. We have a cat and will be getting a Husky around Christmas for my dad, so we could use two of these! I think they are neat! Our daughter is two, she got a kitten a couple weeks before her first birthday and she was always responsible for feeding him. Of course we had to remind her at first, but within weeks she woke up to feed him with no warning, a year later and he is still as spoiled for her. We love our pet!

  17. I have a 9 year old German Shepherd who has had trouble eating for the past few months. She slops all over the floor and makes a huge mess!!

  18. I have two dogs and two cats of my own. I have foster dogs and cats coming through house always. Right now I have 5 foster dogs and 1 cat. This would be really nice to have.

  19. We have three dogs ,two are cattle dogs,2 inside cats and 3 outside with a stray that just had 4 babies(10 cats! Omg that sounds awful, our five are fixed by the way.) And if the stray stays she will be too. We also have 3 goats and donkeys and cows. Just a regular little I would love the feeder for the inside cats.

  20. We have two ferrets. I cannot tell you how many times I have shuffled into the kitchen in the wee hours of the morning, only to step in water that has been spilled on the floor. They also think it is fun to drag their bowls around and the Neater Feeder looks like it would be harder for them to move.

  21. We have a mixed breed medium sized dog that would benefit from a neat feeder. She loves to make a mess at dinner time.
