My children love to read. My son has been a book worm since he was in the womb! My husband would read to him when he was still in utero, and I could really feel him respond to the stories. From very early on, he would grab books and “read”.

Nowadays, he has so many of his books memorized that he can actually read them on his own! I’d like to say he’s going to be an early reader like I was, but only time will tell.

So when my friend from Piggy Toes Press contacted me about doing a review/giveaway for their 10 Little Ladybugs Puzzle Kit, I knew it would be a total smashing hit with my children!

I wasn’t wrong!

About Piggy Toes Press:

Piggytoespress.com is an online bookstore where many unique story and activity book formats can be found, including Touch-N-Feel, Pop-ups, Die-Cut books, Totes, and Board Books. They also have a wide range of licensed books from Disney, Crayola, and Sesame Street, as well as many licensed products featuring your favorite college sport teams.

Whether you have a tiny tot or a child 8+, there is something for everyone!

Here are some titles that really pop out at me:

  • Are You Ticklish?
  • Crayola Alphabet Wipe Off
  • Treasure Island
  • Christian Warriors

There are so many great books available. I encourage you to take some time to check out their awesome inventory!

My Thoughts:

We were able to review the 10 Little Ladybugs Puzzle Kit (not available on their site but you can find it at your local Sam’s Club). We loved the book and I loved how the entire kit helped me to teach the story from a variety of angles. The flash cards were great, and the puzzle provides hours of fun!

This book has always been a favorite of ours, and we absolutely loved our 10 Little Ladybugs Puzzle Kit from Piggy Toes Press!

With a name like Piggy Toes Press, how could you not love them!

Glide Bikes Review & Giveaway

My son has always been an incredibly cautious little boy. Ever since he was a baby, he was never one to jump first and ask questions later. Instead, he was always careful to hold back on things until he was sure he wouldn’t get hurt or fail. Our daughter is quite different, so we knew it wasn’t a matter of parenting, he’s just a cautious little guy!

Around the time he turned 3 years old, he started showing a desire to learn to ride a bike. However, he’s always had a bit of a delay with his motor skills, so pedaling was an obstacle he just couldn’t overcome. He would get frustrated and give up far too easily each time.

When I first heard about balance bikes, I thought they seemed silly. The more I learned though, the more intrigued I was. I knew that serious bike riders used these balance bikes to teach their own kids how to ride. Opting for balance bikes OVER traditional bikes with training wheels. That said something to me, and I started to wonder if we really just have this whole bike teaching thing backwards!

Why not teach them how to balance before they learn to pedal?

I recently had the chance to review a Cupcake Cuties Cupcake Decorating Kit from the popular company Cupcake Cuties!

About Cupcake Cuties:

Cupcake Cuties was begun by a mom who knew that there was something missing from the plain old everyday cupcake! She knew with a bit of flair, the plain cupcake could really turn into a cutie cupcake! She started her business when someone mentioned that her cupcake designs were so great, she should share them with everyone! Now she does (and we’re all super thankful for that!).

The Vintage Pearl Review & Giveaway (2 Winners!)

Snag an entry for the Family Friendly Frugality Re-Design $100 OR Kindle Bash by entering this giveaway! You must be a Family Friendly Frugality facebook follower to enter FFF giveaways.

I love jewelry. That might be surprising to some, because I honestly don’t wear much. I am pretty picky though, so it’s not often I find things I really love enough to wear on a regular basis. I recently was lucky enough to review a necklace from The Vintage Pearl though, and I fell in love!

About The Vintage Pearl:

The Vintage Pearl creates unique and hand stamped jewelry and keepsakes. They do not use machines and every single piece is one of a kind. The company was begun by a mom of 4 named Erin Edwards. She started a small jewelry business back in 2007, just as a way to keep busy and as a creative outlet. Over time the company has grown to where it is today, there is even a brick and mortar storefront now!

Erin’s company is a Christian company that gives back to many worthy causes. Here are a few of the causes they have been able to help out over the past few years:

Stop Child Trafficking Now

Tulsa Dream Center

Orphan Shield

The Mercy House

Inspire International Ministries

and many others.

My Thoughts:

From the very first interaction with The Vintage Pearl, I knew this company would get a good review from me! Personable, efficient and lovely are the three words that come to mind when I think of The Vintage Pearl.

Applied Labels Review & $25 Giveaway

I worked in childcare for several years before starting this blogging gig! Towards the end of those years, I started seeing these nifty labels making their way into school on my students belongings.

Personalized, dishwasher safe labels on sippy cups, on sandwich containers, on bottles. Personalized, sweat proof stickers inside shoes (my personal favorite, putting 12 different kid’s shoes on after naptime is surprisingly difficult if you forget which pair belongs to whom!) and on clothing. I knew I wanted some of these stickers, but I didn’t know where I would find them!

I was recently able to review some of these labels from Applied Labels, and let me tell you…they sure live up to the hype!

About Applied Labels:

Applied Labels was built out of necessity by a mom named Heather Clements, who just wanted baby bottle labels that wouldn’t wash off her baby’s bottles in just a few washes. She soon realized her dream and started Applied Labels with the help of her husband Patrick. The company has grown exponentially since then and they now offer a variety of products.

Applied Labels LLC offers the most unique and versatile personalized labeling solutions available. Once applied, our dishwasher and laundry-safe ultra durable labels will stay on all year long. Applied Labels™ have twice the adhesive strength of most labels and use a proprietary print technology to produce durable, long-lasting labels that easily withstand harsh environments, such as a dishwasher.

All of Applied Labels LLC’s products are lead, BPA and DEHP Free. Applied Labels LLC’s products were tested by an independent, third-party laboratory and were found to meet or exceeded all government standards.

Here are just a few of the products they currently have available:

Gourmet Gift Baskets Review & Giveaway

I recently had the opportunity to review an Easter Basket from GourmetGiftBasket.com. I had heard of GourmetGiftBaskets.com before and always wondered what one of their baskets would be like.

If you check out their website, they have every kind of basket you could possibly imagine:

You can shop by type, price, holiday or theme and there really is a basket for everyone!

They even have gluten free and corporate gift baskets!

Since I love the idea of consumable gifts, I knew that I would like a gift basket from them much more so then a bouquet of flowers!

The basket I had the chance to review was this Classic Easter Basket.

Here’s what was inside my basket:

Ingredients:

· Fiona Bunny – 8″ – A cute classic bunny that will hop his way into their heart and make this one of those Easter Gifts they’ll remember!
· Solid Milk Chocolate Bunny by Madelaine Chocolates – 6 oz. – You can’t have a classic Easter Gift Basket without a solid chocolate bunny, and this one is amazing!
· Gourmet Jelly Beans by Summit Foods – 3 oz. – Jelly Beans are full of color and variety just like the spring season and these gourmet jelly beans are sure to impress.
· Chick PEEPS by Just Born – 5 ct – Marshmallow PEEPS are a staple during the Easter holiday, so it’s only fitting they are included in our classic Easter Gift Basket.
· Watermelon & Cherry Nerds by Kendall Confectionery – 1.65 oz. – Everyone has heard of Nerds and this sugary treat is one that we include in many of our Easter Gift Baskets.
· Easter DOTS by Tootsie – 7 oz. – Your favorite DOTS flavors, but will bold colors that resemble dye Easter eggs.
· Peanut M&Ms by Mars – 1.69 oz. – A nutty twist on the classic chocolate candy.
· Strawberry Twizzlers by Hershey – 2.5 oz. – Strawberry flavored licorice twists.
· (2) Colorful Bright Easter Egg – The classic plastic egg with detachable top and bottom, made even better with a connector so you never lose a piece!

This is what it actually looked like when it came to my house (it was actually shipped inside a fairly sturdy box):

I have to admit, this arrived at the very start of naptime and it was VERY hard to not break it open before the kids woke up! When they finally got up, we ripped the bag open and started munching away! The candy was all good quality, and I of course snagged the M&M’s and Twizzlers for myself! My daughter loved the bunny and we discovered that none of us are really Peep people (but come on, doesn’t EVERY Easter basket need to include Peeps?).

We loved our basket and we definitely enjoyed gorging ourselves on the yummy candy!

If you’d like to order an easter basket of your own, you can order from here, prices start at $29.99. If you want to order the specific Easter Basket I reviewed, click here.

Got Bad Breath? TheraBreath Review & Giveaway

Do you have bad breath? I think we all deal with dragon breath on occasion! I recently had the opportunity to review some products from the company TheraBreath, and I’m not sure I’ll ever worry about bad breath again!

About TheraBreath

TheraBreath was created by Dr Harold Katz at the California Breath Clinics. It first went on the market in 1994, and has helped over 1 million users conquer their embarrassing bad breath. They sell a variety of products:

They also have teeth whitening products and even products for your pet’s breath!

You can find TheraBreath at a store near you by using their store locator, or you can just order online.

Do you have a question about TheraBreath? Their FAQ’s are more then thorough, so be sure to check it out. If you do have a question that is not answered by the FAQ, they actually have live chat available Mon-Fri from 8-5pm (you can locate this on the upper left side of the website). How neat is that?

My Thoughts

My first impression when I received the TheraBreath was wow…these are really generous sized containers! I knew I would be receiving full sized products, but I guess I imagined they would be smaller! Definitely enough product to last quite awhile!

Next I read the directions for how to use the system. I was a bit thrown off that they wanted me to put the TheraBreath toothpaste on a dry toothbrush. I don’t know about you, but I generally wet my toothbrush before I put toothpaste on it. I decided to follow the directions perfectly though, so I did not wet the toothbrush.

I braced myself for a bad taste, but it didn’t happen. Now it’s not amazing tasting…it is toothpaste. It’s not medicinal tasting or overpowering either.

Next I grabbed the TheraBreath Oral Rinse. I really liked the easy measuring cap, I didn’t have to guess how much mouthwash to use. Now I’m going to admit something here. I hate mouthwash and can NEVER keep it in my mouth the fully allotted time. This was no different, but I did make it a lot longer then I typically do. Actually, from the 2nd time on, I was able to keep it in my mouth the fully allotted time each time.

I was also give the lozenges to review. They are called Mouth Wetting Lozenges and they are Mandarin Mint Flavored. My initial reaction was…um huh? Trust me though, they are REALLY good (I have one in my mouth right now!).

My final impressions after using this system for over 3 weeks is that it works. I definitely have fresher, better smelling breath, my husband even says so. If you have issues with bad breath, I encourage you to try out TheraBreath. There is no need to stay embarrassed, not when you can do something about it! It is not the cheapest option, but you can consider it an investment in your health and your confidence.

The Giveaway

TheraBreath has graciously offered to provide one of my readers with 1 tube of TheraBreath toothpaste AND 1 bottle of TheraBreath Oral Rinse. These containers are HUGE! This prize is worth $21 (not including taxes/shipping and handling).

Snagit Review & Giveaway: Make Your Computer Even More Awesome (2 Winners!)

You might have noticed a bit more fanciness in my blogging lately. Things like this:

and this:

and we can’t forget this:

It’s a program called Snagit, and it’s incredible. A few months ago, I was on the phone with my editor from Momtastic. We were in a “web meeting” and I was watching her show me how to do something on the computer. All of a sudden this little red box popped up and she quickly edited a photo from the internet and added it to a document. This was something that generally took me at least 4-5 minutes (and no less then 2 separate programs) to accomplish on my own computer.

I stopped her and asked what kind of magic she was using on her computer and she mentioned the program Snagit.

I grab a LOT of pictures from the internet (store logos and such…make sure you are careful about what is public domain and what is not!). I also do a lot of how to type posts. An easy editing program like Snagit would definitely streamline my day to day blogging.

I downloaded the free trial and it was love at first screen capture.

The possibilities with Snagit are endless. You don’t have to be a blogger to use Snagit. My husband’s company has a company license and they all use the program daily. I suspect their tech support team probably makes the most use out of it!
