Sometimes I can be a brat about paying for certain things.

Sunscreen.

It’s expensive y’all!

I’m always struck by the price of it. I mean, you can easily get a tube for under $10…but on a family of 4 it doesn’t go that far.

Regardless, it’s necessary. 3 out of 4 of us burn very easily. My son and I freckle and turn into lobsters (thankfully, he’s never gotten more than a few splotchy red spots since we always coat him up really well with sunscreen). My husband can get pretty red as well.

My daughter on the other hand just gets dark. Then darker. Then darker.

I find myself wondering if she needs sunscreen sometimes.

Then I hit myself in the head because OF COURSE SHE DOES. We all do.

That’s why when I think about how annoyed I get at having to pay for sunscreen, I also have to think about the people that aren’t just annoyed…the people that simply can’t afford it at all.

I’m sure you’ve heard that one bad sunburn can double a child’s odds of developing skin cancer later in life.

How awful to put that burden on a child because you can’t afford sunscreen for them now 🙁

Honestly I haven’t. Until recently!

True story.

No one every sat me down and showed me how to do my makeup. For the most part, I’ve been able to figure it all out on my own. However, I still guess an awful lot!

Thanks to YouTube and the wonderful ladies who share their tips and advice through video tutorials, I’ve learned a bit more lately, but it’s still not “personal”, you know?

They don’t have my skin type. They don’t have my (Casper the Friendly Ghost) coloring. They typically have flawless skin….(um, I’m 30 and I’m approaching the wrinkle stage and I STILL have acne!).

So when I ran into a Beauty Consultant at a local Walmart recently, I was SO excited! A one on one beauty consultation right there in the middle of the makeup aisle of Walmart!

I’m not getting any younger (30!) so first we talked about the wide variety of Olay products specifically targeted towards anti aging. I was surprised at the wide selection and the great prices!

My consultant had some great tips for me. I complained that my mascara tends to clump and flake and she pointed me in the direction of a Clump Free Cover Girl mascara.

She also explained the difference between CC and BB cream (CC is a color correcting cream and BB is more of a beauty balm) and why I might want one over the other.

I have brown eyes and I LOVE eye shadow, so we chatted a bit about how to bring out my brown eyes via eye shadow. She directed me to a Cover Girl palette made SPECIFICALLY for brightening up brown eyes! It even came with a blending  brush…very cool!

My Beauty Consultant (her name was Karen!) also helped me find a very light cover up for my under eye area. I recently watched a video (on YouTube of course, LOL) where the girl was putting on a “flawless” face of mascara. One thing she noted was that you shouldn’t use thick cover up in your delicate under eye area.

Um…I was using a VERY thick under eye concealer! Karen helped me find a very light and very complimentary under eye concealer made by Cover Girl.

After I said goodbye to Karen, me and the fam headed home and later that evening…with a fresh face of my new makeup…my husband and I had a fun date. He complimented me on my new make up and was very impressed!

It’s Tearing Up my heart when I’m with you…

Oh, that song brings back high school!

NSYNC. Those were the days!

I have to say though, Justin Timberlake as a single artist has knocked my socks off a million times over.

I’ll admit. I’m a bit of a fangirl when it comes to this cutie pie!

I have purchased all of his albums so far and I knew I was going to purchase his brand new album “Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience”.

However, being the frugalista that I am…I had to find the best price!

First though, I hope you got a chance to watch The History of Rap 4 that JT and Jimmy Kimmel performed the week before JT’s album came out. Look it up! Hilarious!

A quick check of Walmart’s website showed that they agree…JT’s new album is a big deal!

Whoa, just $7? This is crazy!

Yes, Walmart.com and Walmart stores currently have Justin Timberlake’s new CD available for just $7! This awesome deal is available only from March 19-March 24, 2013.

I couldn’t wait for MY #JT2020 experience though, so I grabbed my shopping buddy and off we went to Walmart. (You can grab yours online here if you wish)

The signage for the new album is front and center in the New Releases of Walmart’s Entertainment section.

Sure enough, just $7!

I grabbed a CD and a few other things and we were headed out the door (oh…and I PAID of course. You kind of have to do that.).

I tore into the CD as soon as we were in the car.

I expected it to sound good (and oh yes…it DOES! Mirrors, Suit and Tie and Tunnel Vision are my favorites!), but I was suprised by how visually appealing the packaging was. Right down to the CD itself!
