I love my Instant Pot! One of my favorite things to do with my Instant Pot is to make hardboiled eggs. Now, I won’t say that cooking my hardboiled eggs takes LESS time in my Instant Pot (I own the 6 in 1) , BUT it does produce better hardboiled eggs that peel like an absolute DREAM!
It’s so simple and I can make enough hardboiled eggs for the whole week in one session! I’ve piled as many as 24 eggs into my Instant Pot using this method (that was for Easter!) and they have always come out perfect.
There is a way to make popcorn balls that doesn’t involve burning the crud out of your hands? SIGN ME UP!
My daughter was very excited about this GoodCook Popcorn Ball kit as well. Since we were planning a playdate with some friends of hers, she asked if we could make popcorn balls for her and her friends.
Now I have nothing against Popcorn Balls for the sake of Popcorn Balls, however…
So you know I had to find a way to incorporate our popcorn balls into some kind of learning activity!
All the kiddos that were going to be at the playdate were going to be around 4 years old.
Prime “Learn to Spell Your Name” age!
We decided to incorporate pretzels and m&m’s in our Popcorn Ball name activity.
I did NOT put pretzels into the popcorn ball simply because I was nervous that the 4 year olds would choke on them if they were hidden in the ball.
So we just added the m&m’s to the popcorn mixture prior to shaping the popcorn into balls with the Amazing Fantastic Incredible GoodCook Popcorn Baller!
Next, we put some pretzel sticks and m&m’s in a small cup and wrote the first inital of each child on a popcorn ball.
Then during the party, they had to “create” the rest of their name with the m&m’s and pretzels!
This was actually a great hands activity for the 4 year olds because they had to troubleshoot which letters were made more easily with pretzel sticks and which ones could only be made with M&M’s.
It was so fun!
The popcorn balls were great, and I know we’ll make some more (less educational, ha!) in a few weeks for Halloween.
These healthy homemade Rainbow Fruit Cups will be the hit of the party! Watch as the kids grab these brightly covered cups filled with colorful fruit. Make these fruit cups as a healthy snack, as a fun appetizer or dessert or serve them at your next party!
So far this week, I have posted my recipe for Buffalo Chicken Cheesy Nachos and Mini Stuffed Baked Potato bites. I am of the firm belief there should always be SOMETHING healthy available at any get together though, so today’s recipe is going to help you get some of your fruit servings in.
Mainly it’s just a colorful cup full of yummy fresh fruit!
I was inspired by some cute rainbow fruit skewers I found on Pinterest.
It wasn’t working out well on the skewers and I had some clear glass plastic cups left over from this strawberry shortcake recipe, so I decided to layer the fruit instead.
I cut all the fruit bite sized (except the grapes…I did not cut the grapes) and layered it into the glass in this order:
purple grapes
blueberries
green grapes
melon
pineapple
strawberries (on top!)
I actually made these for my daughter’s birthday party and believe it or not, they were the first thing gone!
Let’s just be honest here. I’m not a huge football fan (and yes, I do live in Texas. Shame on me!). However, I love the Superbowl! Well, I love the food and I enjoy the commercials at least.
This week, I’ll have one Superbowl friendly recipe each day leading up to the big game. Bookmark any you’d like to make (might I recommend Pinterest?) and let me know how game day goes for you!
Stuffed baked potatoes (although time consuming) are my 2nd favorite way to eat potatoes. However, they can really can end up becoming a meal all on their own. Since game day is all about snacking, I decided I wanted to make tiny stuffed baked potatoes!
I found this recipe for mini stuffed potato bites one day while browsing Pinterest and I decided to test them out. Needed to be sure they were game day worthy!
The Verdict?
They totally are!
Now I’m not going to lie. Scooping out tiny potatoes is kind of a pain. Flavors by Four uses a melon baller, but per usual in the FFF kitchen, that kitchen gadget has apparently taken a walk (did I ever even have one?).
This was crazy simple and only required 5 ingredients.
Small red potatoes that you cook until soft (about 40 minutes) and scoop out the insides. Keep in mind these won’t have a tough outer skin so you should definitely leave a bit of potato to create the shell for the filling.
Then you just combine some mayo, cheese, crumbled bacon, salt & pepper and throw them into the oven to brown a bit!
Super tasty!
I added chopped green onions over the top of the finished product, but the original blogger actually added them to the mix.
