When I think of salt, I think of table salt. That little salt shaker that I love SO much.
I’ve always been a big salter. “Salty” is probably my favorite taste sensation 😉 . (yes it even beats sweets most of the time!)
This commercial shows that everything is better with a little salt. Some things I don’t usually think about!
First though, here are some interesting facts about salt:
How bad can hard water really be?
Well, it can cause your showerhead to lose 75% of its flow rate in just 18 months. It can rob your water heater of almost 50% of its efficiency. And it interacts negatively with soap, reducing its cleaning power.
Problems that all disappear when you use a salt-based water softener.
Soft water doesn’t contain the hard minerals like calcium and magnesium that cause scale buildup. And the benefits are countless. Appliances run better, last longer and are cheaper to operate. And studies show that, with soft water, you can use half as much laundry detergent at colder temperatures and still get better results than with hard water.
In other words, salt-based water softeners help save energy, save money, and save the environment.

Feeding America has partnered with Juicy Juice for this awesome effort to bring fresh fruit to our nation’s kids.
Here’s some more information about their efforts.
Be sure to click the link at the end of this post to find out more about how you can help.
Nestle Juicy Juice, Feeding America, and celebrity mom and anti-hunger advocate Samantha Harris team up to fight childhood hunger with the Juicy Juice Fruit For All Project.
June through August 2012, one piece of fruit will be provided to children and families in need each time JUICY JUICE is purchased.
An estimated 16 million American children are food insecure and lack access to nutritious foods. Juicy Juice will become part of the solution this summer by helping to provide up to 35 million pieces of fruit to those who need it most.
In addition to contributing with Juicy Juice purchases, families can participate in online challenges at FruitForAllProject.com or Facebook.com/JuicyJuiceUSA and help provide even more fruit. Juicy Juice also encourages families to volunteer with their local food bank, local feeding agency, or any organization combating hunger
