What’s New This Week?
Universal Orlando Theme Parks
New! Halloween Horror Nights Map: The 2014 Halloween Horror Nights 24 Map has surfaced online. Excitement is building as the first night of the event is in just 10 days! Thanks go to Orlando Informer for finding and publishing the map.
New! A New Tale of Beedle the Bard Debuts at Diagon Alley: Though originally described in the June press release, it wasn’t until this week that “The Fountain of Fair Fortune” debuted in Carkitt Market in Diagon Alley. During this show three witches and a knight meet in their attempt to reach the Fountain in an enchanted garden. This show is in addition to “The Tale of the Three Brothers” – featured in the seventh film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” – in which three wizard brothers come face to face with Death.
New! Free Wifi Rollout Complete: Universal has completed its rollout of complimentary Wi-Fi access in the theme parks and Universal CityWalk. As a reminder, earlier this year Loews introduced complimentary in-room wifi for all registered guests with two levels of service. The Premium Wireless will be complimentary for up to 4 devices in the room which will be optimal for surfing the web and checking email – 512kb. There will be an option to upgrade to Premium Plus for $14.95 per day up to 8 devices – 3meg. This will be optimal for streaming music, entertainment, VPN and Large file transfers. Complimentary Premium Wi-Fi in the common areas will continue as normal.
Reminder! Meet the Boxtrolls at Universal Studios: From the creators of Coraline and ParaNorman comes a story of a young orphan boy named Eggs raised by a new breed of family called The Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures! For a limited time, you can get your picture taken with some of the fun loving Boxtroll characters themselves! The Boxtrolls make daily appearances at the Character Party Zone located just outside The Horror Make-Up Show in Universal Studios. Check your park map for that day’s schedule, but they’re usually out there at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm and 6:30pm through September 26.
