Do Not Be a MoneyTrasher! Win a $100 CVS Gift Card

We may earn a small commission via affiliate links in this post. See disclosure policy and/or privacy policy for more details

I’m just going to admit it.

I used to be a MoneyTrasher.

What is a MoneyTrasher?

A MoneyTrasher is someone who doesn’t take advantage of how easy it is to save money at CVS/pharmacy. In fact, MoneyTrashers have the audacity to THROW OUT their ExtraBucks® Rewards!

I mean, I know how it happened. They didn’t look like real money, so it was easy to convince myself that it was just more paper that I needed to throw away.

But what VALUE I was trashing!

ExtraBucks® Rewards are like “free CVS money” that can be spent on just about anything at CVS.

When you throw out an ExtraBucks® Reward, you are throwing away cash. Now doesn’t that sound ridiculous?

Who throws away CASH?

MoneyTrashers do!

Are you a MoneyTrasher? Maybe you are and you don’t even know it?

Here’s some information on the ExtraCare Program:

:: Every week, CVS will feature items in their weekly ad (we always give you a sneak peek of the upcoming CVS ad, so be sure to check in every week!) that will earn you ExtraBucks® Rewards. All you have to do is purchase these products and along with your receipt, an ExtraBucks® Reward will print out.

:: You can use your ExtraBucks® Reward on just about anything in the store! You can even use you ExtraBucks® Reward to purchase another product that will result in ANOTHER ExtraBucks® Reward. This is called “rolling”.

:: You can also grab savings and coupons by following CVS’s Social Media profiles, registering your email address and ExtraCare card on their website and by visiting the big red Coupon Center kiosk in most CVS stores.

:: Did you lose your ExtraBucks® Rewards? Well no need to worry. Check out CVS’s new Send to Card option:

ExtraBucks Send to Card option

Send to Card, the new digital savings option for ExtraBucks® Rewards, gives shoppers the choice to send their rewards and even online coupons digitally to their ExtraCare card for automatic redemption during their next shopping trip. For shoppers that prefer to print their ExtraBucks Rewards at home or in-store, that option remains available. For the average shopper that is looking to save money this could be a HUGE relief of not needing to clip coupons or keep track of ExtraBucks® Rewards – it’s now all on their card! Here is link for more info.

It’s so easy to be a MoneySaver at CVS, so don’t be a MoneyTrasher!

Did you know it’s quarterly bonus time at CVS right now? Be sure to head up to CVS to redeem your quarterly rewards!

Members earn back 2% of all dollars spent on  purchases,* and $1 ExtraBucks® rewards for every two  purchased.** These earnings are automatic, just for scanning your ExtraCare card during each shopping trip.

While you are up there redeeming your quarterly bonus, wouldn’t it be nice to have some money to spend?

How about a $100 CVS gift card!?

CVS has graciously offered to sponsor a giveaway of a $100 CVS Gift Card for Family Friendly Frugality readers!

First you can (it is not required), sign up here to send your quarterly bonus to your CVS ExtraCare Card using Send to Card!

Next, all you need to do to enter is leave a comment below this post answering the following:

  • How did you/will you redeem your quarterly ExtraBucks® Rewards?
  • Did you send your bonus to your card or did you print them at home to use on your next shopping trip? Or did you pick them up at the Coupon Center?
  • Did you buy/Do you plan to buy something fun for yourself, a friend or did you/do you plan to strategically shop to lower your overall grocery bill? What did you buy/do you plan to buy?

Leave just one comment answering the above questions.

This giveaway ends on 4/7/12 at midnight (CST). Comments left after that time will not be eligible to win.  Be sure to put a working email address in the comment form so we can contact you if you win! You’ll have 48 hours from the time you are contacted to redeem your prize.

Disclaimer: CVS/pharmacy provided the gift card for this giveaway. All opinions expressed are my own.

I will spend it on necessities that we need but are not on sale. I have them added to my card. I will shop strategically but buy things we really need such as trash bags, kids items etc.

I definitely plan to use my membership to save the most money for my family on the things we use most. Thanks for the giveaway!

I use my quarterly rewards to roll in with other ECBs and make it stretch as far as possible. I always send them to my card so it’s one less thing I have to remember to bring. I shop very strategically and am able to get more than what family needs then I donate to a local shelter.

In my defense, I never lived near one except for a couple of months (before I was aware of what great benefits and deals they have, like Extra Care bucks!). I got my quarterly ExtraCare Bucks when I cashed out on Tuesday.
They were printed out on my receipt.
I am heading out to CVS in a few minute and I plan on cashing in my ExtraCare Bucks on couple small Easter Basket items.

How did you/will you redeem your quarterly ExtraBucks® Rewards?
    I redeemed mine on makeup

Did you send your bonus to your card or did you print them at home to use on your next shopping trip? Or did you pick them up at the Coupon Center?

I am old school and pick them up @ the coupon center

Did you buy/Do you plan to buy something fun for yourself, a friend or did you/do you plan to strategically shop to lower your overall grocery bill? What did you buy/do you plan to buy?

I usually buy bottled water and soap/toothpaste/paper towels that are cheaper there than at the grocery

I didn’t realize you could save them by sending them to your card. When one prints out i try to use it that day if i don’t unfortunatly it expires and I loose the ecb but from now on I plan on sending them to my card.

I redeemed my quarterly ExtraBucks on cereal. I picked them up at the Coupon Center. It helped with our food budget.

How did you/will you redeem your quarterly ExtraBucks® Rewards? Most likely medication and vitamins.

Did you send your bonus to your card or did you print them at home to use on your next shopping trip? Or did you pick them up at the Coupon Center? I will print them at home.

Did you buy/Do you plan to buy something fun for yourself, a friend or did you/do you plan to strategically shop to lower your overall grocery bill? What did you buy/do you plan to buy? I would like to strategically shop to help lower the bill. It looks like CVS has some great sales this week, so I’ll probably start there. :)

I still haven’t redeemed my extrabucks. I think I will send them to my card before hitting the store and use them to save on some cleaning supplies or make-up for me! But a $100 gift card…that would be awesome!

I will use them toward my regular purchases to help save $$
I need to print them at home cause I always forget to use the coupon center!
Everytime I shop CVS I buy things on sale in their ad. I am going to have to do a lot more planning since hubby is injured & off of work.
