Houston area readers! Shuttlebration Weekend starts today June 1st 2012!
According to KHOU.com:
Friday, June 1
Space Center Houston will host a free street party near the Hilton from 2 to 10 p.m. There will be food, marching bands and other entertainment.
Saturday, June 2
On Saturday, the eastbound right lane of NASA Parkway will be closed between Lagoon Drive and Space Center Blvd. This lane will be closed to ensure the safety of NASA personnel while they prepare the shuttle for ground transport.
Congestion may occur throughout the day, as equipment will be moved in and out of the work zone. Police officers and DPS will direct traffic as needed throughout the day.
Sunday, June 3
On Sunday, a parade will be held as a transporter moves the shuttle to Space Center Houston.
