It’s been one week since I started Nutrisystem and I figured it was time for a quick review of how I’m doing and how much I’ve lost!
I have some stressful things going on in my life right now, but in regards to eating and Nutrisystem specifically? Awesome. I am feeling awesome. Amazing. Incredible. Energetic!
Mentally, this is the easiest diet I’ve ever been on. Maybe because it takes a lot of the thinking out of my hands? They tell me what to eat, and I eat it. It’s awesome. I tend to overthink things and obsess, especially when it comes to food. I don’t think I’ve ever described a diet as free-ing…but that’s the best way to describe it. I am finally free from the constant decisions of what to eat, when to eat, etc.
I have to admit, I usually crack about 3 days into a diet. Like bawling and begging my husband to take me somewhere to get a sandwich. The 3rd day on Nutrisystem simply came and went, no big deal.
Colin is doing pretty well. He’s never been on a diet, so this is all very new and different for him. He seems really excited about it though and is VERY committed (tell me how you can spot a new dieter? They take everything VERY seriously. “I don’t think this is a medium apple, it seems large to me.”).
Clear. My whole body just feels cleaner and clearer. My focus is better and I feel lighter. My skin is doing great, my stomach feels flatter (although it’s got a LONG way to go to ever be flat) and I just feel like I’m walking taller and more confidently.
Something about Nutrisystem really really agrees with me. My body is in love with this diet. I had some hunger issues the first few days, but once I got used to what I was eating and how much…it’s like everything just fell into place. I was hungry at meal times and pleasantly satiated after (never full though). I’ve always suspected that I have insulin resistance (I go back to get my blood results from the endo in a week), and a low GI diet is generally recommended for people that have insulin resistance.
Nutrisystem is based on the science of the Glycemic Index:
So, what’s our secret? Simple—we’ve got science on our side.
Nutrisystem is based on the proven science of the Glycemic Index, and eating low-GI meals 5 to 6 times a day helps keep your blood sugar and metabolism stable, so your body burns calories more effectively.
Plus, we’ve found a way to make dieting doable by providing you with the foods you love-minus the guilt.
Menu staples like Lasagna, Mac & Cheese, and chocolate are given a good-for-you spin with fiber, protein and good carbs to help control cravings and keep you feeling satisfied, then packaged into just the right portion size so you never go overboard.
All in all, it’s a complete, balanced approach to losing weight and living healthier.
I don’t know why, but my body just *gets it* with this Nutrisystem.
I mean it must…because I lost……
10 lbs in my first week on Nutrisystem!
I kid you not. Now, I’m not naive. I know quite a bit of that is water weight. I also know that I had a lot of “last meals” in the days leading up to starting so my starting weight might have been a bit higher then normal.
You know what else I know? 10 lbs is pretty darn motivating.
I am going to do it this time.
I’m not going to lie, during the moments this week that I came close to slipping (not many, although my husband and I did have an off plan meal for date night) I thought of all of you. How I wanted to report a big number to you and I wanted you to be proud of me. That pulled me through in those moments where MY resolve wasn’t strong enough.
So thank you! All of you!
Colin lost 3 lbs this week! I am SO proud of my husband. He is a rockstar and he is my rock!
Week 1 Results:
Heather -10 lbs
