Save Artwork In A Photobook!
Tot Tuesday is a weekly feature where I highlight a special kids activity, frugal recipe for kids, kids tutorial, etc.
My kids are 3 and 2. There are 2 of them. The amount of artwork and keepsakes those two children produce from their 2 day a week Mother’s Day Out program can be quite overwhelming. I can only imagine as they get older, and more protective over their special projects, how hard it is going to be to find a place for everything.
I honestly can’t even remember where I first heard this idea, but it is honestly genuis. You know those photobooks that all of the big online photo processing stores are advertising nowadays? I have decided that every year I am going to make a photobook of the kids artwork for them to keep as a memento of all of those handprints and photo collages. Sure we’ll still keep some of the projects out for display, but for the most part we plan to scan or take a picture of everything they bring home and then dispose of it.
This project negates the need to physically keep every single piece of artwork our children create. Which is pretty much an impossible task anyway. Where in the world would you store everything? It also relieves some of the guilt associated with trashing the carefully crafted Popsicle snowman and glittered pasta necklaces (which I love and treasure, there just isn’t enough room for it all!).
So where can you buy these photobooks? Pretty much everywhere to be honest. Here are a few retailers that make the upload and creative process easier on you:
- Snapfish
- Walgreens
- SeeHere
- York Photos
What do you do with your children’s artwork and special projects? How do you determine what is keep worthy and what gets tossed? I’d love to hear what works for you.
