I was recently contacted by V-Tech to review their adorable new toy Catch-Me-Kitty. The Catch-Me-Kitty is for children ages 12-36 months (and um…29 year old grown women) and has sophisticated sensors that know when your child approaches it. When it hears or senses that your child is near, it quickly scoots away and the race is on!
The Catch-Me-Kitty also has three shape buttons that help your child develop motor skills, and with its motion, sound, and teaching capabilities.
My little Lizzie is 2 1/2 right now and she fell in love the moment I took her Catch-Me-Kitty out of the box!
First, he’s very attractive. A bright orange color and a sweet little smile. Second, he’s exciting! Set him on the floor and watch him go!
My son (age 4) got in on the action too. So it definitely is a toy that spans age groups further then it’s intended use.
Things I like about Catch-Me-Kitty:
- Even though it is made out of hard plastic, my kids threw it around and it is no worse for wear even weeks later. Like all V-Tech products, the Catch-Me-Kitty is built strong and durable by a company that knows how rough children can be on their toys!
- You can turn off the sensor and just play with the kitty stationary. Sometimes the kids just want to push the shape buttons and learn!
- The bright lights and cheerful sounds are not annoying like some toys can be.
What I don’t like:
- The hard plastic can be a double edged sword because it can also hurt little heads if the kids throw it around. With proper supervision though, this should not ever be a problem.
You can purchase the V-Tech Catch-Me-Kitty from V-Tech’s own website or from Amazon.com and many other retailers as well. The retail price is around $21.99.
