I don’t know about you, but I actually put a lot of thought into getting my kiddos something special for Valentine’s Day!
To me, it’s not just a day to show romantic love, but also to just show love to the people that matter most to you.
For me, that definitely includes my kiddos!
Here are some stats on Valentine’s Day:
- Almost all (92%) of Americans agree that Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance – it’s about showing people you care about them.
- 82% believe the holiday is more about love than just spending money.
- Americans prefer to give Valentines (73%) versus receive them (27%).
- Americans prefer to be gifted with experiences (82%), versus more tangible gifts (18%).
- A personalized gift (64%) is preferred to a handmade (22%), or expensive gift (8%).

Build-A-Bear Workshop® actually shared these statistics with me*, and to be honest, it doesn’t really surprise me!
Especially the part about giving Valentine’s over receiving. I LOVE to give gifts! Especially to my children and my husband.
We are big Build-A-Bear Workshop® fans in this household. In fact, for each of our kids, when we found out their gender, we used a Build-A-Bear Workshop® bear to reveal the gender to our friends and family!
Build-A-Bear Workshop® is an amazing company that supports the community.
This Valentine’s Day season, Build-A-Bear Workshop is giving shoppers the opportunity to care for others with its “Million Hearts, Million Wishes, Million Ways to Help” campaign benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, donating a minimum of $250,000.
Guests can share photos of their “heart ceremony” when they wish on a limited edition “One in a Million” red satin heart that is added to their stuffed animal.
For every photo shared on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest with #sharebabwwishes, Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $30,000. Build-A-Bear Workshop Guests can also make monetary donations to support Make-A-Wish at checkout in stores nationwide and online at buildabear.com through March.
Build-A-Bear Workshop and its Guests will donate a minimum contribution of $250,000 to Make-A-Wish.
