Cheryl’s Chili-Perfect for Fall!

Chili recipe
Chili...YUM!

This is a guest post by Cheryl Siens

There are as many chili recipes out there as there are people who cook it.  Here is the one my family likes best.  We eat it plain, or sometimes add jalapenos to spice it up.  We also love making Frito pie out of this particular recipe.

Cheryl’s Chili

 Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ¾ cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 1-lb can tomatoes, broken up
  • 1 can Ranch Style beans (optional)
  • 1 8-oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder

Directions:

In heavy skillet, cook meat, onion, and green pepper till meat is lightly browned and vegetables are tender.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  Cover and simmer for 1 hour.     Makes 4 servings.
