My First Full Day on Nutrisystem

So yesterday I posted that I was going to be starting Nutrisystem. I have now had a full day on Nutrisystem and I wanted to do just a real quick check in to let you know how I’m doing!

Great. That’s pretty typical for me early into a diet though. I feel encouraged and ready and excited!

A bit hungry. I had a lot of “last meals” that consisted of an entire days worth of calories leading up to starting Nutrisystem, so the hunger makes sense. I do feel more energetic though…so that’s great!

I’m investing in my health and it pretty much feels fantastic right now.

I felt so encouraged by the feedback on my post yesterday and on my Facebook wall today. Honestly, this support is unprecedented for me! I’ve never had a great support system in place during previous weight loss attempts and I think it’s going to make all the difference.

I wanted to show a bit about what a typical eating day will look for me over the next few months:

Breakfast– NS Breakfast Burrito, bowl of strawberries and a tall glass of milk (I can also add a slice of bread or some other carb)

Lunch-NS Chicken Noodle Soup, Salad w/ fat free dressing, roasted veggies and turkey pepperoni

Afternoon Snack-apple and string cheese

Dinner-NS Meatloaf, Salad w/ fat free dressing, broccoli with garlic tossed in olive oil and bread

Dessert-NS ice cream sundae

I get a bit more food because I have 100+ lbs to lose, but Colin still gets to eat a bit more. Including a mid morning snack.

Colin says, “It’s time saving and the thing I like about it the most is that it helps you control your portions. Starting out, that’s kind of rough to deal with, because you physically feel a lot different then you are used to. I used to feel uncomfortably full after every meal, now I don’t but I also still kind of feel hungry. It should all balance out as I get used to it.”

Love all the support and PLEASE keep it coming! Thank you!

  1. Congratulations! You are going to do so wonderful. You have so many people supporting you including your hubby!! Hope you enjoy every moment of it. One tip– Sometimes when I want to eat everything in sight (and I have) I paint my nails!! It really works.

  2. Congrats on a successful day! I think it’s a mind reset – not having to feel uncomfortable after eating – before long you’ll be hearing/noticing your “full” signals.

And for me it’s been important to replace food with something else. It’s a constant struggle (still is even though I’ve maintained my WW goal weight for almost a year) but I have to NOT focus on food. Sounds like NS helps you do that.

Looking forward to next week’s weight (and eventually inches) loss report!!
    You can do it!!!

  3. Congrats! I had a lot of “last meals” too lol. I surprisingly felt super full on my 1st day, im not used to eating so much, just bad stuff. Its only been 3 1/2 days but I already lost 4lbs. 🙂
