Do you have an iPhone? Have you updated to iOS 9.0.1? If so, you will want to change a “default” setting asap. Especially if your data plan is NOT unlimited (mine is not and I since I use my phone for data constantly I go over EVERY month, ugh!), you will want to toggle OFF this feature!
You see, iOS 9.0.1 has this default setting tucked waaaaay behind the scenes. It’s called Wi-Fi Assist. It’s default setting allows your phone to seamlessly use your cellular data when your WiFi signal is POOR.
This potentially could majorly rack up cellular data without you even realizing it!
Thankfully, the fix is quick and easy and I’m going to walk you through it.
Step 1: Go into your settings
Step 2: Go into “Cellular”
Step 3: Scroll waaaaaay down to the bottom
Step 4: Toggle the Wi-Fi Assist so it is no longer lit up green.
You are done!
Congrats, you have just saved yourself some super expensive data bills.
PS: Apparently Apple not only KNOWS about this issue, they don’t seem to think it’s a problem at all.
I’ve had an Ipsy subscription for probably 6 months now. I joined originally just to see what all the fuss was about. I love the Walmart and Target Beauty bags, so I figured I would like Ipsy as well.
I definitely think Ipsy is in a bit of a different league from those beauty bags though.
First off, for the most part Ipsy seems to have higher end products.
Second, Ipsy always comes in a cute make up bag (that said…I’m kind of over these and have started giving them to my daughter. You only need so many makeup bags!).
Lastly, Ipsy tends to introduce me to beauty brands/products that I most likely would not have otherwise tried/heard about. The Target/Walmart beauty bags tend to have items that I have already tried.

I definitely think I’ll continue my Ipsy subscription for a few more months. So far I’ve been really impressed and find myself falling in love with at least 2-3 of the products each time!
If you are interested in signing up for Ipsy, I’d love for you to use my Ipsy referral link!
FYI, I pay for Ipsy out of my own pocket. This is not a sponsored post. But that ^ is a referral link!

Ignoring the fact that my hair desperately needs a trim, here’s my “before” and “after”:
This NuMe Curl Jam combo is amazing.
NuMe, a leading force in breakthrough technology and luxury, has engaged the opulence of the crushed gemstone tourmaline and paired it with powerful negative ions to dramatically smooth each lock of hair, crafting curls and straight styles to perfection. Indulge in a rich styling experience with the advantage of never having to choose. NuMe delivers four precision styling tools in one complete package.
Clipless barrels (3) screw onto base for ease of use
Infrared heat technology
Negative ion technology
Ergonomic design
A variety of size choices to create the most versatile curls and/or waves
Heat-resistant glove included
Three interchangeable, chip-free tourmaline infused ceramic wands:
19mm (3/4″)
25mm (1″)
32mm (1-1/4″)
The look above was made by blow drying my hair (that had been allowed to air dry about 75% through), spraying on some heat protector spray, running the flat iron over the ends and then using the 1″ barrel to create soft beachy waves.
The end result left my hair looking healthier, softer and infinitely more fashionable. Plus, it helped me to avoid the ponytail!
I have since used all 3 different sized barrels of the curling wand and love the different looks I can achieve. For tighter, more ringlet curls, I use the smallest barrel. For a large body wave I use the largest wand. Sometimes I actually let my hair air dry, and then go in with the smallest barrel to create a more uniform look.
This is a great kit for anyone who enjoys styling their hair. One of the biggest perks of all is the fact that this all comes in one easy to roll up, easy to travel with carrying case!
The price is $199. While that might seem a bit high, you are actually getting 4 HIGH Quality styling tools in one easy to carry package. This one set could potentially take care of all of your heat styling needs!

Oh this one made me tear up! Right now, Lean Cuisine has a beautiful campaign titled #WeighThis.
I think, especially this time of year, we can tend to get caught up on what the number on the scale says more than what really matters in our lives.
That’s not to say health doesn’t matter. That’s not to say that fitness and good food aren’t important.
What it does say is that no matter if you are 4 lbs, 40 lbs or 400 lbs…you are more than your weight. We are all unique and we are all beautiful. We all have something special to bring to the table. Our life experiences and passions are what make each and every one of us worthy and most of all…INTERESTING!
What a boring world this would be if we all fit into the same mold. What a boring world this would be if we all cared about the same things. What a lack of life and beauty that world would consist of.
Embrace what REALLY matters. Embrace what makes YOU…YOU!
This campaign came at a great time for me. I’ve been eating better and working out but I have not been seeing progress. That is so frustrating. To be honest, I’ve let the frustration consume me a bit.
After watching the video (above) though, I realize I’m putting more weight on my WEIGHT than all of the awesome things that are currently going on in my life right now.
1. My kids are home for summer and I’m loving the opportunity to live a bit slower with them.
2. I’m getting some time to reconnect with my husband. After MONTHS without dates, our kids are currently in a nightly VBS that allows us to have a bit of time together each night. So priceless and necessary.
3. I’m back in the gym. Progress or not, I’m active and I know it’s making a difference
4. I’m taking the summer to reconnect with friends and family that I didn’t get to see much of all year long.
5. I’m sewing a lot more and I’m really enjoying branching out and really pushing myself out of my comfort zone with this beloved craft.
Wow, my life is FULL! My life is interesting. My life is different than yours and different than absolutely everybody else’s in the world! My weight is just ONE of many things that make me…me. And it’s one of the least important.
I hope you take some time to reflect on what matters this swimsuit season. Psst, it’s not what you look like in your swimsuit! 😉

I generally ignore 90% of the press releases that fall into my inbox. Then read/delete the rest. Every once in awhile though, I come across something share worthy.
Right now, Walmart and Pampers have teamed up to donate $200,000 to Children’s Miracle Network…and you can help!
Whether they suffer from common childhood afflictions like asthma and broken bones, or fight bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids. To show support for the organization and the one in 10 kids in North America who are treated by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year,Walmart and Pampers have teamed up to donate $200,000 in the month of June.
Additionally, by purchasing products like Pampers Swaddlers at your local Walmart, portions of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Your support helps provide 32 million patient visits for 10 million kids every year
One in 10 kids in North America is treated by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year
Every day, member hospitals treat 16,000 children in emergency rooms
Every hour, member hospitals provide surgery for 97 children
U.S. members hospitals provided $3.4 billion in charity care in 2012
Will’s story in particular resonated with me:
Will
Mother Frances Hospital
Quad Congenital Amputee
Age 7 (as of 11/30/14)
Will has always defied odds, starting with an all-too-rare Hanhart syndrome diagnosis before he was born. Children with this disorder often have some, but not all, of the symptoms. Will’s diagnosis affects all four of his limbs and was born without feet and with partially developed hands.
This hardly slows him down. Though doctors told Will he would never be able to run and jump without ankles, he has since proven them wrong, defying odds once again.
CMN Hospitals fully funds the Special Needs Clinic where Will receives his care. The Clinic is the only one of its kind between Dallas and Shreveport and treats more than 500 children.
The Children’s Miracle Network helps so many! I definitely wanted to help Walmart and Pampers get the word out about this promotion.
To help get the word out, Walmart is offering a $25 Walmart gift card to one lucky FFF reader.
All I ask is that you share this post with someone else. I’m not going to follow up, so this is on the honor system ;).
After you share the post, come back and leave a comment. Your comment will be your entry to win. I’d love for you to share any personal experience you or your loved ones have had with Children’s Miracle Network as well.
This giveaway will end on 7/2/15 at 11:59 PM CST. Winner will be chosen at random.

Last summer, I started noticing a bunch of my friends getting really into essential oils. At first it was the friends that try EVERYTHING. You know, the ones that would buy air if it came in pretty packaging.
I didn’t think too much of it.
Then some friends (including a few friends I have in the medical profession) hopped on board. At this point, I became curious myself and decided to order some oils from Young Living. I had done some research and decided that Young Living was the brand I felt had the highest standards and the most support for their customers.
I made a big mistake though! Not wanting to invest a ton of money into something I was still fairly skeptical about, I ordered one of the very smallest kits (The Basic Plus Starter Kit). Well, my kit came and I was so excited! My daughter was actually sick at the time, so I pulled out some of the trial samples and used some of the oils on her. She felt better almost immediately.
I diffused some of the oils and made a hair mask with some others. I spilled one entire packet.
In 3 days, my Essential Oil experiment was essentially…OVER!
At this point, I simply wasn’t convinced. Yes, my daughter got over her cold pretty quickly. Yes, I did have more focus when I diffused the peppermint oil in my office. Yes, the lemon made a really fun and fragrant scrub. I spilled the peace and calming everywhere, so it just smelled…strong?
Not a great first impression. I also fully realized that I didn’t really give it a chance. School started though and life got busy! I didn’t think about the oils again until the Kindergarten sickies took hold of my little girl. I felt like she was getting sick constantly! It was so frustrating. No mother likes her child to be ill, and my daughter LOVES school and hates to miss it!
At this time, a friend of mine posted about the immediate relief her daughter felt when she rubbed some oils on her daughter’s chest during a road trip. I decided to order that particular oil and give it a try. At the same time, I had read about using Lemon Essential oil in water to help with digestion issues, so I ordered Lemon Oil as well.
From there, I kind of went crazy. (in a good way!)
I started doing more and more research and using essential oils in new and different ways. I use them all over nowadays. Oddly, the thing I do the least is diffuse them. I still do enjoy using my diffuser though.
I’m hoping to start writing some posts regarding how I use the oils in the future. I don’t want to become one of THOSE bloggers though who does nothing but push their oily habit all day long 😉 . That’s super annoying and honestly where my reluctance to post about my little hobby so far came from. A friend of mine convinced me otherwise though…it’s too important and too great to keep to myself!
If you are interested in checking out Essential Oils, I want to be sure you don’t waste your money and you set yourself up for success right from the start (unlike me).
Here’s how to save the most:
1. Sign up as a Wholesale Member(Full disclosure – this is my referral link. I actually did this RIGHT and have been signed up as a wholesale member since summer of 2014)
Here are some of the benefits of being a wholesale member (over a retail customer…you really don’t want to sign up as a retail customer. You have to pay full price! Nobody who reads this blog pays full price, right?!)
Enjoy 24 percent off retail pricing on your favorite products.
Participate in the compensation plan and earn commissions just by sharing Young Living.
Qualify for exclusive Young Living member events around the world.
Enjoy the benefits and convenience of Essential Rewards.
*Please be sure the sponsor ID and Enroller ID say 1920207
2. Purchase the Premium Starter Kit.This is where I made my big mistake. I chose a smaller starter kit and quickly blew through my sample oils before I really had a chance to give them a go. The Premium Starter Kit comes with a bunch of great stuff, but the best part is that they start you off with the TEN most essential of the essential oils…in 5 ml bottles! The oils in this select collection provide ongoing support for your home, health, and body.
You’ll receive some samples of other oils as well. Plus your diffuser and all of your info guides.
3. Sign up for Essential Rewards (optional): I have not yet done this, but plan to do it soon as I am starting to run out of several of the oils we use on a regular basis. Essential Rewards is a great way to earn points towards future purchases. You do have to order at least 50 PV (product value or point value) per month and it does sign you up for an auto ship program.
In the first six months (months 1 – 6), you get 10% back in ER point credits.
In the next six months (months 7 – 12), you get 15% back in ER point credits.
In every month after, beginning with month 13, you get 20% back in ER point credits.
This can be a tough thing to commit to right off the bat if you aren’t sure if you and your family will really enjoy/utilize essential oils. In hindsight though, I wish we had signed up for this program from day one!
Do you use Essential Oils? Comment below and tell me what your favorite oils are!

My husband had surgery a bit over a week ago. There’s nothing like someone being out of commission to make you truly appreciate all that they do for you!
All of a sudden, the trash can was overflowing and it dawned on me that *I* had to take it out. I mean don’t get me wrong, I take out the trash from time to time. I just don’t take it out EVERY time.
We produce a lot of trash y’all.
When you are solely responsible for taking out ALL of the trash in the household, you learn a few things about it.
#1: The bags we use in the kitchen are WAY too big. By the time the trash can fills up, the bag is only half filled. We really need to be using kitchen sized trash bags in there.
#2: Trash is stinky (duh?)
I recently found out about these new Glade scented trash bags. These Glad scented trash bags come in two irresistible Gain scents— Original and Island Fresh— to keep your kitchen clean and neutralize odors.
Provides continuous odor neutralization that leaves behind Gain’s fresh scent
Reinforcing bands help add strength while saving plastic
Strong drawstring makes closing and carrying easy
Available in 13-gallon size
These bags hit shelves March 2015 at a suggested retail price of $8-$12 per carton at Walmart, Target, Dollar General and Family Dollar retailers nationwide. Additional information can be found by visiting here.
